Meet Ty Terrell The Human Behind the Practice.

Attorney. Broker. Mediator. NLP Practitioner. And at the end of the day — a neighbor who understands the land, the law, and the weight of what you're carrying.

Beyond the law books and real estate contracts, I am a homesteader at heart. My life is governed by the rhythms of the land — the patience required for a harvest and the grit needed to build something from the ground up. I’m a student of human behavior and a believer in the power of the Pattern Interrupt, whether that’s breaking a cycle of family conflict or simply stepping out onto the porch at Harmony Homestead to reset during a long day.

Three Things I Believe In:

Radical Neutrality
You can’t find a solution if you’re busy taking a side.

The Third Way
There is almost always a creative option that neither party has seen yet.

Legacy over Litigation
The way you end a chapter determines how you start the next one.

What People Say:
Clients and colleagues often describe me as the Calm in the Storm. They notice that I have a way of lowering the temperature in a room just by walking in, and that I can hear the real need hidden behind the angry words. People feel safe enough to be honest in my presence, but they also feel the weight of my authority — knowing that I have the legal and market expertise to get the deal done.

The Turning Point

My journey to this office at 903 S Main Street didn't start in a boardroom; it started in the high-tension trenches of traditional litigation.

For years, as an attorney, I watched the same story play out: two parties entering a courtroom hoping for justice, only to leave months later with their bank accounts drained, their relationships shattered, and a resolution handed down by a judge who didn't know their names or the history of their family.

I remember a specific moment during a property dispute where I looked at the faces of the people involved. They weren't looking for a fight anymore — they were looking for an exit. But the system was designed to keep them swinging.

That was my deep yes moment. I realized that my unique background — the legal rigor of an attorney, the market savvy of a real estate broker, and the psychological tools of an NLP practitioner — wasn't just a resume. It was a toolkit for a better way to settle.

The way you end a chapter determines how you start the next one.

What I Know in My Bones

I believe that clarity is the ultimate form of kindness.

Conflict is like a fog — it makes everything look distorted and dangerous. My job isn't to take a side; it's to be the sun that burns that fog away. I've learned through homesteading that you can't force a harvest, and you can't force a settlement — you have to create the right environment for it to grow. At Salem Dispute Resolutions, I've built that environment: a neutral, sophisticated space where the Triple-Threat of law, land, and language works for you, not against you.

"You cannot shake hands with a clenched fist."

Three Things I Believe

  • Radical Neutrality

I don't walk into a room with an agenda. My only allegiance is to the resolution. When both parties feel truly heard — not just listened to, but understood — the path to a signature becomes much clearer. You can't find a solution if you're busy taking a side.

  • The Third Way

Most people arrive at mediation believing there are only two options — mine and yours. My job is to find the third way forward that neither party has seen yet. It almost always exists. It just takes the right environment and the right set of eyes to find it.

  • Legacy over Litigation

The courtroom is designed to produce a winner and a loser. Mediation is designed to produce a future. I believe that how you end a chapter determines how you start the next one — and that a mutual agreement reached with dignity is worth more than any verdict handed down by a judge who doesn't know your name.

What Happens When You Walk Through Our Doors

When clients walk into my office, they are often carrying the weight of a messy chapter — a divorce, a contested estate, or a land contract gone wrong. I help them put that weight down. I help them become the architects of their own next chapter.

I want you to walk out of these doors feeling a physical sense of relief — knowing that your assets are protected, your dignity is intact, and your future is finally back in your own hands. We aren't just settling cases here. We are restoring the peace of mind that litigation takes away.
